Economic Development

Greensboro’s economic development initiative is administered by the Greensboro Economic Development Alliance (GEDA), a sister organization to the Chamber. GEDA’s mission is to facilitate the creation of high quality jobs, attract new capital investment, retain and expand existing businesses, and improve per capita income as well as quality of life in Greensboro and Guilford County.

GEDA markets Greensboro using a targeted industry cluster strategy, which encompasses five primary clusters: Aviation, Transportation & Logistics, Advanced Manufacturing, Financial/Business Services (including mission critical facilities) and the Life Sciences.

This strategy enables us to maximize the unique combination of a young, well-educated labor force, excellent power and fiber reliability, superior highway infrastructure, the research capabilities of our universities, and the strengths of our existing industries. This holistic approach to economic development capitalizes on the connections between industry, higher education, and our workforce development assets, guaranteeing that we never miss an opportunity for growth in Greensboro and Guilford County.
