Greensboro has a vibrant and diverse economy that was once built around textiles and manufacturing, but today is driven by aviation, transportation and logistics, microchip and other advanced manufacturing technologies, life science related operations and connections to our research centers at North Carolina A&T State University and The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

The Greensboro region is home to over ten corporate headquarters and a number of major divisions of multi-national firms. Companies like VF Corporation, Volvo Trucks North America, TIMCO, Gilbarco Veeder-Root, and Lorillard are based here and American Express, P&G, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Lincoln Financial Group have major operations in Greensboro.
